At QCRI (Qatar Computing Research Institute-Qatar Foundation), Luis Fernandez-Luque works on social computing for health. Studied computer engineering at the University of Sevilla (Spain). PhD at the University of Tromso (Norway). He has been involved in eHealth and Medical Informatics research for over 10 years, working both in industry and academia in institutions such as Norut, Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain), Harvard Medical School (USA) and the digital health startup Salumedia (Spain). In addition to editing several books about ePatients, he has more than 60 peer-reviewed publications, 30 of them indexed in PubMed and cited over 1000 times in the last 5 years (according to Google Scholar). He has been working in the last seven years in the field of Health Social Media, becoming one of the leading experts in this emerging field. He is currently the co-chair of the Social Media Working Group of the International Medical Informatics Association.
